I have been using the Mach 3 and Mach 3 Turbo razors for years. My husband uses them and so I joined in as well so that we’d only have to buy one kind of refill. It was fine, but I go through them much faster than he does, so I decided to try some new razors to see if I would switch.
I have tried a few others that I won’t mention, they were mediocre and would do the job in a pinch, but not something I would buy again.
This changed when I tried out the Gillette Venus Spa Breeze.

I had not tried the Schick Intuition, the surrounding lathering agent looked like a big bar of soap and it just seemed like it would be disgusting after only one use. When I saw the Spa Breeze in the store, it looked intriguing and so I picked up a pack.
I tried it and loved it! I had wonderful results with this product, probably because most of my shaving experiences are rushed and I just shave my legs in the shower without shaving cream/gel (yes I know this is terrible). This razor gave me a beautifullly smooth shave with smooth results, and after about 5 uses of the razor, it is coming to the end of its life but the shave gel around the razor looks like it is shrinking in a normal way, and more importantly, doesn’t look gross to me.
I think I have found my new razor, at least for now.

We’re always glad to read real life experience product reviews…there’s not greater truth than the one from a genuine consumer.
Like you, I’m a huge fan of the Venus Spa Breeze for shower shaving. It’s so easy, a breeze if you will. I really liked the original Venus Breeze, but love the light scent of the Spa Breeze.
It sounds as though you stored your razor correctly to keep the gel bars from getting “goopy”; I just want to mention for your other readers, it’s important to keep the cartridge out of the way of water between shaves and to store head up (if you aren’t using the shower pod).
Take care and good shaving!

Ooh! I’ve tried some of the other Venus razors, but I haven’t tried that one yet. It looks awesome! Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m sure this product is terrific, but I switched from ALL disposable or ‘long-lasting’ razors 3 years ago and have never looked back! I use any of the new product lines that are basically very fine sand paper. Used correctly, your skin is exfoliated gently and ‘shaved’ perfectly. No more mixed plastic/metal/aluminum in the garbage. Sure you can try to remove the razor from the handle on some products and recycle but I’m sure most people don’t even try. The sand paper approach has probably been around for hundreds of years but honestly I can no longer rationalize any throwaway product.
