Botox: the final results are in
May 28th, 2009 by Airdrie
Today marks three weeks since I had the Botox Cosmetic injections in my forehead. I had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Frame at the Vancouver AntiAging Clinic. We both agreed that the results are successful. I am no longer able to make deep frowning gestures with my eyes, and the permanent wrinkles will stop developing with continued treatment. I know there are people who don’t think I need this, but I’m telling you that on more than one level I *really* needed a little pick-me-up at this time in my life. My husband’s cancer diagnosis has given me many days of tears and worry. I feel like I’m all cried-out, and that it’s time to start tapping-in to my inner beauty again. I felt the same happy feeling when I had my two front teeth capped and veneered to match each other. I had had a traumatic tooth injury as a child which left one front tooth dead, and the other one healthy. For years they did not match, and I felt like I was missing-out. I felt ugly. Ever since I had them fixed, I’ve never looked back. I feel that Botox has given me a similar outlook. As I mentioned on last week’s show, I’m now planning to factor Botox into my beauty budget.
Here are some photos, taken in chronological order.
Angry Face: before

Angry Face: one week after botox

Angry Face: is gone at 3 weeks after botox

Eyebrow lift: achieved with botox

One last shot: I’m in love with my eye-brows

If you have any questions about my Botox treatment, please leave a comment or send me an email.
Please note that I did not receive any payment for this review. I had to cough-up the whole $370 myself, and my motivations for getting Botox are purely personal. I just wanted to share the experience with my Lip Gloss and Laptops community because we talk about cosmetic procedures so often in our Reality Check segment of the show.

Airdrie, it was nice to see you tonight at the local blogger meet-up and admire your Botox results in person. I find there are lots of things – big and little – we can do to make ourselves feel better so why the heck not? Looks great!
WOW! Airdrie, I didn’t expect it to make such a dramatic difference, but it did and you look great, congrats. :)
You look great! Thanks for sharing your experience with it, very informative.
I started getting Botox because my ‘thinking’ face was being interpreted as an ‘angry’ face. Outdoors it is even worse since squinting seems to make me look angry. Plus I have getting chronic headaches from squinting. Sunglasses and visors didn’t seem to help, I just squinted unconsiously.
That is when I discovered the amazing brow lift. Isn’t it fun?
You look WONDERFUL!!!!!!! The results are dramatic and AMAZING!
Great results! You look completely refreshed! but don’t overdo the brow lift otherwise you will end up looking like Danielle from the Real Housewives of New Jersey. You look great!
Wow, what a difference. How does your face feel? Does it feel tight or numb in anyway?
damn. i can’t wait to have that done. my worry lines between my eyebrows and around my mouth are out of control. my son’s autism therapy is great, but i worry a lot still. this is just a great reminder that if i feel better, our family will feel my goodwill, and i need to take care of myself and treat myself well because my family needs me. thanks for the inspiring photos. i love lipgloss and laptops podcast!
thanks for the photos – very nice!! just out of curiosity, Have you considered the IPL photofacials as well? (Not that you NEED this at all, but it is another one of those new beauty technology procedures that has become popular) for redness/pore size as well as diminishing melasma (which I got from last pregnancy…) It is as expensive as Botox, if not more (350$-500$ per session)….anyway, please keep updating on any other ‘medi-spa’ procedures you do, so very interesting!! Keep up the good work!
Wow you look AMAZING! I am so glad that there is a review that is un biased as most people are dead against it. I have to ask though, how much did it hurt?! I would quite like to get it done but I am a big wimp where pain is concerned!
