Episode #48 - Thank-Yous and Mid-Winter Funk

Thank you so much to all of our generous listeners who put a little somethin'-somethin' in our tip jar. Wow! Thanks, ladies.

Go listen to episode #48 on the podcast page or download the MP3 file (about 59 minutes) directly.

This week, Air and Kerry Anne talk about perfumes and skin cream and...then go out to search for their lost mojo, or maybe just a well-deserved cocktail. They also mention the Lifesaver Bracelet from Anzie, benefiting colorectal cancer research. The Adam Woodall Band, our pals from North Vancouver, return with the song "Coming Home Soon."

Kerry Anne's Reviews

Kerry Anne picked up the Almond Foaming Bath from ~H2O+. It creates a tub full of luxurious, comforting bubbles that smell amazing. It's scent is reminiscent of the classic cherry-almond fragrances a la Classic Jergens or the old-skool Vidal Sassoon shampoos. I purchased it on sale for a cool ten bucks, as (surprise, surprise) it is soon to be discontinued. I also love the very simple, no-frills look of the glass bottle, which holds 15 fl oz \ 445 mL of product. Get it while you can.

Skingenic Regenerating Moisturizer is a product I received the in the Beauty TestTube. I gave it a go for a couple of weeks, but found toward the end of my test, my face was rather dry. Our West Coast winter has been unseasonably harsh this year, by the end of the two-week trial, I found myself reaching for a product we reviewed earlier this winter, Dermafirm.

I wanted to like the Skingenic. It boasts an impressive list of ingredients, including what they claim is the currently the world's most powerful antioxidant, Idebenone. This moisturizer did not give my skin the TLC it needs right now, did my skin appear any brighter. Skingenic Regenerating Moisturizer retails for $110US for 1 oz.

Airdrie's Reviews

Airdrie talks about Crabtree and Evelyn's new perfume line. Listen to the show for all the details.

She also mentions the H2O+ Spa Moisturizing Marine Cleanser and Hand and Nail Cream. Both are fabulous indulgences for the kitchen sink or bathroom.

Two thumbs way up!

Hello! Thanks for mentioning my letter - I am glad you found the advice useful Kerry Ann!

Airdrie: I have a tip for you! Try using a foundation primer after you've put on that cream that you like! I think you'll find that the primer goes on smoothly and so will you foundation! I have found that a primer with a high silicone content works best. I had often suffered from the same problem and hated to decide between a face cream and a foundation. (For me, the foundation used to win every time.) Good luck!
