Episode #43 - Happy Holidays! (Last Show of 2006)

Go to the podcast page to play this episode online, or download the MP3 directly (about 40 minutes).

This is a short show to wrap-up the year 2006. It is a busy time of year for us and we will be taking a few weeks off, but will be back strong in January 2007.

Links to things mentioned in this show
:

1. Max Factor Pan-Stik celebrates it's 60th Anniversary. Listen for details of our current give-away.

2. Have some spare time this holiday season? Why not rent this classic film: Camelot. Airdrie first wore the classic Pan-Stik make-up while acting as a princess in the chorus of a production of Lerner and Leowe's musical Camelot in grade eight. Unfortunately no photographic evidence of her performance is available.

3. Do you enjoy musicals? Airdrie does, and she recommends the soundtrack to Wicked. The original cast features Kristin Chenoweth, who Airdrie loves from The West Wing and Deck the Halls. It also makes a great last-minute gift for the musical-lover. Dont cha just love the red lipstick on the wicked-witch? All she needs is a pair of red pumps and she is ready for the holiday parties.

4. Purdy's Chocolates. A Canadian treasure made here in Vancouver, BC!

Our Gift to You...SNL's Delicious Dish Ladies with Pete Schweddy!

Reality Check
We discuss a recent faux pas we made on the show.

Please enjoy a safe, happy, and not too perfect season.

Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more."

Hi, Ladies, Happy Holidays!

Airdrie - why not see Wicked in Chicago?

http://www.wickedthemusical.com/chicago/

If you haven't been to Chicago - GO! There's a Sephora and a C.O. Bigelow and The Body Shop in Water Tower Place! (Which is on the Magnificent Mile). www.shopwatertower.com And they just got a Bare Escentuals at Water Tower Place. And there's a Ghiardelli's Chocolate place just across the way, with the Hershey's Chocolate Store nearby. I highly recommend eating at FoodLife or Wow Bao. I wonder if a flight to Chicago would be cheaper? - Janice B. from Chicago (who likes Chicago more than NYC!).

ok - i just moved to virginia from outside of chicago and if y'all are going to wicked there, we can make it a group outing!! ps- airdire -are you a west wing fan then? we must chat!

listen, ladies - my favorite ladies! this show got me down! :( not only no shows for more than one week (y'all do deserve a break, i know) - but airdire - shoot! you bummed me out! i totally understand where you are coming from in terms of not wanting to be "extra" scrutinized re: beauty boost idea etc... and i agree and support! but you were sounding so excited and now you sound so.... hurt almost. well, you are definitely entitled to do whatever you want, but i want you both to know that i appreciate your show, the time you both put into it and your motives for doing so!

you guys are never afraid to bring criticisms to the fore and deal, as well as call them as you see them. i think that is great - and thats all anyone can expect from anyone else and it is something (accountability - i cannot spell without spell check!!!) most people lack on any level. i think it is great to have a space to say - oops, ya maybe that came off a little weird or something, here is what i was thinking.... and your discussions always seem to open up further thought and incites....

in any event, i hope KA and Air and all the lipgloss and laptops listeners are having happy and safe (and warm!) holidays! i look forward to the show resuming soon! (good times)

i thought i would also toss out a couple of new/continuing favorites too: loving palmers cocoa butter lotion (smells like candy) and so moisturizing and cheap and great for body and hands; still loving cliniques airomatiques elixir in that velvet sheer formula you all talked about - i can wear it and not feel like i am gassing out the neighborhood; have you smelled that michael kors fragrance - I LOVE IT!!! yum!; and i, self annointed make up queen who hates liquid eyelinr, tried the clinique gel liner formula (in black honey) and i love it! y'all had talked about the MAC one etc.. and i never thought i would like that type of product, but this is really cool and lasts!!!!

all right, over and out, look forward to hearing from you... next year!!!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

love and kisses!
