Kerry Anne's Picks and Pans
Let it be known that I don't use lip liner to line the outside of my lips, I use it to colour the entire lip area using a natural tone, a few shades darker than my natural lip colour. Of course, lip liner can be used to line the lips to prevent lipstick feathering, just be sure it matches your lipstick.
NYC Lip Liner. The colour I have is 956A, a slightly shimmery pinkish brown which looks very natural. I highly recommend this liner. It's cheap and glides on smoothly. Can be used on it's own, or with a bit of lip balm so it slides on even easier on to the lips. ($1.99CAD, $.99US)
Jordana Lip Liner is available widely in dollar stores and bargain outlets, but don't turn your nose up at it. It is a quality lipliner that contains lots of pigment, is soft and applies wonderfully. ($1.99CAD, $.99US)
Wet and Wild Lip Liner in #666 is a classic, and has been a staple in my makeup bag for at least a decade. It is a bronzy pink, suits many skin tones, and is long, as is the NYC liner mentioned above. It's is also dirt cheap. I've purchased this one in cherry red and the 666, and comes highly recommended by multiple beauty sources. ($1.99CAD, $.99US)
MAC Lip Liner. Perhaps the best known of the MAC Liners is their Spice, which is another universally flattering colour. I purchased the Plum colour, which in hindsight, was not an ideal colour match for my complexion, although the liner itself if great. It's substantially more expensive than the drugstore liners, but is a reliable product that has wonderful pigment, and can be used as a liner or all over the lips. ($15CAD, $12.50US)
Bonne Bell Lip Liner. This is my least favourite of the drugstore liners. I've had a few of these liners, and they just don't do the trick for me. They are dry, hard, and take a bit of effort to show up on the lips, paricularly the lighter shades such as Biscotti and Orchid. The colour selection is pretty good for a drugstore brand but I won't repurchase it because it tugs on my lips too much. ($2.99CAD, $1.50)
Airdrie's Review
Estee Lauder Lucidity Light-Diffusing Makeup SPF 8. I had a great treat at the beauty counter last month. Estee Lauder is having a "Foundation Free-For-All" promotion. They will match your face to a type and colour of foundation that works for your skin type and colour, and then give you a free sample of the foundation. This was such a great opportunity to try an expensive foundation, and to really compare it to drugstore brands. The foundation I went home with was a sample of Lucidity in Natural Linen. The product was great, but I did not purchase it. I may in the future. What a great promotion. Kudos to Estee Lauder for giving it away. Check it out.
Next week I'll be reviewing Maybelline NY Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Natural Ivory.

I've been trying to purchase things to help out breast cancer because I had a great aunt whom had breast cancer and later died of it, or so we think.

Thanks for being here to help us women out!
I don't really like lip liners, whenever I've put them on with my lips being so small they end up looking funny or like i'm wearing my mothers' lipstick without permission.
