Who do you put on make-up for?
Maryam Scoble, a fellow Geek Goddess, posted an interesting blog-entry that asks "Who do you put on make-up for?" after spending the weekend with a few hundred gorgeous women at Blogher. Her conclusion was that women put on make-up for other women. I found the comments from her readers most interesting and quite unexpected.

I agree and not just makeup, clothes and jewelry as well. BTW, despite having no wish to get fake nails, I loved your recent podcast. It was a change to hear Airdrie reviewing the products and Kerry Ann doing the commentary.
Air did a great job last week. When she gets going, she always "unleashes the scientist".
Melanie, I had such a terrible experience with those fake nails. I had the flu during that podcast, and when I woke up the next morning, I had it FULL on, and every part of my body ached, and those freakin fingernails were the bain(?) of my existence.
I woke at 5:30 to try to take them off, but the nailpolish remover I had didn't work on them. I will never have them again.
Oh, you poor thing. That's what keeps me away from the things.
I also put on makeup for other women, I mean come-on. All you have to do is walk around buck naked if it were only men! They usually hate make-up, always whining about lipstick coming off, etc. :)
