Episode #12 - Perfume Chronicles Part II
Go give a listen to episode #12 of Lip Gloss and Laptops at our podcast page, or download the MP3 file directly (52 minutes, 40 seconds).
In our second edition of The Perfume Chronicles, we discuss some new fragrances for Summer, differences in perfume formulations and Air's Summer signature scent.
Red Delicious Women - Donna Karan has come out with a floral-oriental follow-up to her wildly popular "Be Delicious" fragrance. $36-$68 at Sephora, slightly higher in Canada. There's even a lipgloss in this line for $16.
Escada Pacific Paradise - this fruity floral is available for only a limited time and is currently the top seller at The Bay in Canada.
Demeter Play-Doh Those of you feeling nostalgic for your childhood might want to check out this new scent that Demeter is producing, with the assistance of the Hasbro corporation, to celebrate 50 years of Play-Doh. Hopefully, your date will not regress by calling you names and shooting spitballs at you to get your attention.($19 US, 1 fl oz, 30 mL)

Airdrie's Summer Scent
If you listen regularly, you may know that Airdrie loves the crack-tacular Sea Salt Scrub from the H2O Plus company. She recently purchased the Sea Salt Eau de Toilette, which has notes of wild bergamot nectar, mandarin blossom, black tea and angel wing orchid, and can now take a hit of the scent at her convenience. ($25US, 1.6 fl oz/47 mL)
Dove Ultimate Clear Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant
If you hate white marks all over your black shirts (and according to this article, 78% of us do), check out this truly invisible deodorant from Dove. Airdrie was rubbing it all over her jeans on the show, and it really did not show up at all. I still don't see any benefit to a moisturizing deodorant since I've never known anyone with dry pits, but Airdrie really likes this one. Available at your local drugstore in six different scents including a formulation for sensitive skin.
Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics Comes to Canada
Napoleon Perdis, "Australia's leading makeup artist", is a relative newcomer to the North American makeup retail market, but is a household name in his native Australia. His cosmetic line recently debuted at The Bay in Canada, and is available in the US at Saks Fifth Avenue. I'd heard about one of his Lip Laquers in a colour called Baby Lips, so I had to check this line out. I was impressed by the friendly, approachable staff at the counter and his gorgeously pigmented eyeshadows in unique colours. Products can also be ordered online through his website www.napoleonperdis.com.
