Congrats on your upcoming podcast launch. Despite the fact I don't wear makeup I am interested in technology, especially up and coming technologies like podcasting. I also like to be entertained so I’m subscribing to your Lipstick and Laptops podcast. Good luck.
Thank you, Melanie. We'll have you wearing lip gloss soon, I suspect!
At the very least, it's worth considering SPF lip gloss for the sunscreen alone, right?
You are correct, my metro-man!
Hmmmnnn, come to think of it I do wear medicated Blistex, to control the chapped lips I get from spending so much time outside, hiking and skiing, and it just happens to have SPF 20 ☺
You go girl!
I was just wondering if you have any stats on lipgloss use. I counted mine at just under $1000 per year, but I am looking for a real statistic. Do you have any info on that?
1) Excellent question
2) I'd love to see your collection.
icompact has some stats, but not the specific one you are looking for.

Another site I found surveyed over 7000 women about their cosmetic spending habits. Guess what the number one impulse buy was? Lip products! (and nail polish)

You aren't alone with your cosmetic spending.
Canadians also like to give and receive cosmetics and fragrances. In total, they purchased $732 million worth of cosmetics and fragrances in the last quarter of 2002—a little more than one-third (34%) of the annual total. Just under one-half (45%) of these purchases were made in general merchandise stores, and about two-fifths (41%) in drug stores. http://www.statcan.ca:80/english/research/11-621-MIE/11-621-MIE2003007.htm
That figure was for 3 months in Canada, whose population is much less than in the US.
Lastly, there are tons of market research reports on the net about spending habits. The one I linked to looks particularly juicy. Unfortunately, they are available to purchase only.

Sorry I couldn't answer your question, I'm going to keep searching for the anwer.
Thanks for your interest in the site, and we'd love to hear about your favourite lipgloss, since you've tried so many.
Hi Ladies!
